Our Story
Humble Beginnings
It’s a real-life American-dream-come-true story. Pat Tsilianidis, a Greek immigrant, was working as a janitor at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor before he started cooking at a local restaurant and eventually bought a diner on East 185th St in Cleveland. He owned and operated that diner for 36 years, but also grew his family.
Pat loves the restaurant business and his family. That’s why he’s so happy to be a co-owner of Happy Moose Bar & Grill along with his two sons. He got to combine his love for the restaurant business and for his family into one great business.
The Tsilliandis family wanted to provide a place for the Cleveland community to gather and enjoy America’s favorite past-times — great food and sports! The first Happy Moose Bar & Grill opened in Mentor and invited sports fans and food fans alike to come inside, eat tasty burgers, drink cold beer, and watch great games.
And the rest is a history as happy as the Moose himself.
We Like to Give Back
Every year the Happy Moose shows the Cleveland community some love through sponsorships and donations.

Mondays with Malta Radio Broadcasts—Live radio broadcast on 1330AM which features Lake County high school coaches, students and family.
Annual $500 scholarship awarded to one Mentor and one Lake Catholic high school student
Annual sponsor at the Lake Catholic Gala Fundraiser
Our 2018 Moose Scholarship Winners
Organizations we donate to include:
Mentor, Lake Catholic, and Streetsboro — football title sponsors, baseball, basketball, soccer, wrestling, hockey, volleyball, theatre, etc. Pretty much any department of the schools that requests financial support, we give it.
Mentor Police & Fire Departments - Last year, we fed 45 Mentor Police officers and their administrators over the holidays at the police station and every year we donate all the food for the Streetsboro Police Department golf outing.
